We classified four sentences, playing a buzz game. Some students are still a little bit stuck on the Direct Object. We ask "Verb what?" to get the D.O. Next, we had fun with spelling playing a "Roll the Dice" spelling activity. Each number on the dice stands for a different way to spell the word. Students must fill a 100-square grid by Friday! They are busy. For Writer's Workshop various phrases surfaced to create the Repetition Books we are making. And finally, we acted our way through the last act of the play. It is flowing smoothly. Math
Lucky us! We had some of Mrs. J's class today! And what a lot we accomplished! Students have two main assignments: 1) Terminology project due Thursday. 2) Gather information from 20 sources. 3) Complete the review! We will have a math test tomorrow. Mrs. J's class can do the review to number 20 and the survey part of the graphing assignment. They will have time to work on the terminology project tomorrow.
After lunch we watched a very interesting video clip showing Lee's surrender. We then learned what carpetbaggers and scalawags were, and reasons people moved to the South. We also practiced some Hope of America songs and our Gettysburg Address recitation.
Shea shared with us her adventures on vacation before recess, art, and science.
