All I want to do is read Seven Alone! What about you?
We started off with a quick review of subject/verb tense sense, move on to the root word "macro", meaning large, and enjoyed read aloud for a little while. Poor John Sager sure got duped by that Indian! It's a good thing Kit Carson came along when he did, or he wouldn't be able to show his face!

Our Jazz Read-a-thon has just begun again. Students should be reading at least 60 minutes each day through the 18th of February. We will be having activities, rewards, and competitions to motivate kids from this end. Please encourage your students to read. Read to them at night. read to them over meals, read to them as a family. AND COUNT AND RECORD THE MINUTES!
NO MATH HOMEWORK TODAY. We collected math books, which I will review and record this weekend. Students took a test today. We will start a new book on Tuesday.
In history we learned about why the Mormons moved from Independence back to Nauvoo, about mobs and mob tactics, about tolerance. We also noticed that the Salt Lake Valley wasn't so much a desert as it just needed to be irrigated. Students worked together to research and get to their destinations.
We are making cards for the 7th and 8th Graders to enjoy after their hard work on the Wax Museum. Also, for the 6th Grade Student Leaders.
If students would like to make a card for our janitor, that is also fine.
