This morning we played a word game, where students had to deduct the pattern. The last letter of the word becomes the first letter of the next word. We finished our grammar sheet and learned the root word, "Pop" means "people". Students then resorted their spelling words for the last time before their test tomorrow.
STUDENTS SHOULD READ 30 MINUTES TONIGHT AND TYPE OUT ANY 3-POINT PARAGRAPHS, HOW-TO'S OR OTHER STORIES THEY ARE WORKING ON.
MATH IS PAGE 175 (THE FIRST PAGE OF THE EXERCISE). We drew out large rectangles and small rectangles of different colors, cut the smaller ones out, and taped them over the big shapes. We then figured out how much area was not covered. We will be learning this again tomorrow, reviewing it on Thursday, and doing the math test on Friday.
After lunch and foreign language, the 4th Graders went to art and the 5th Graders started Wonder pages, researching interesting facts to start their Type III projects.
Instead of Technology, we worked on writing assignments. Students then went to Karate, Yoga, and Dance.
How impressed I am with this history class. We have three company captains, who are trying to get their wagon trains to their end destinations. They roll the dice and then get to work. One group was lucky enough to get a good chance card today! Student projects are going up on various bulletin boards.
STUDENTS WENT HOME WITH A SAMPLE SCIENCE FAIR DISPLAY. PLEASE LOOK OVER THESE AND CONTINUE THE PROJECTS AT HOME.
