TOMORROW IS GRANDPARENTS' DAY. SCHOOL UNIFORM IS REQUIRED. SCHOOL GETS OUT AT 12:15 P.M.
This morning we perfected cursive "N", shared three books authored by 4/5 students, and prepared for Grandparents' Day by reviewing our Preposition Jingle. We will be classifying sentences tomorrow.
Students designed small tombstones for sentence starters that must die in 4th/5th Grades. They are:

We brainstormed a "choose your ending" story starter.
Students finished presenting their books read in book club. I was impressed with the simple costuming and comprehension shown. We will begin Summer of the Monkeys on Monday.
One fun thing we did today was Speed Booking. Students sat in two half-circles and rotated every minute or so, having shared the main points of their non-fiction book.
HOMEWORK IS ALWAYS READING 30 MINUTES. STUDENTS MAY READ ON RAZ-KIDS.COM FOR HOMEWORK, AS WELL.
MATH HOMEWORK IS EXERCISE 7. It is dividing 4-digit numbers. This is very difficult for about half of the class. I will be pulling students out individually to work with them. Please practice simple division with your child. Examples are: 8563 divided by 5 2990 divided by 2, etc.
Students shared Dinosaur presentations today. There are still a few to share tomorrow. At 10:15 we will be sharing them with the grandparents.
Tomorrow is the end of Quarter 1. I look forward to meeting with you shortly to show the goals and progress of your child.
