This morning we practiced cursive "S" and worked on branding our initials with a certain style.  We learned about PNA's (Possessive Noun Adjectives) and PPA's (Possessive Pronoun Adjectives).  We classified some very long sentences, labeling each word with a part of speech.  Very impressive how the students are coming along.  Next, we sorted our spelling words and then alphabetized them, before proceeding to reading Summer of the Monkeys Chapter Six.  CHAPTER SIX IS OUR HOMEWORK.  Be sure to quiz your child about the content of the chapter.  It helps them retain information for the quiz.  They should also be bringing their reading folders home and back to school again.

There is a big math test tomorrow: Cum. #2.  We have been reviewing the past two units on number sense for two days.  HOMEWORK IS EXERCISE 12 AND TO FINISH THE REVIEW.  Please give your child a bit of practice multiplying 2-digit problems by 3-digit problems.  We need a bit of work on that.  ALSO, EACH STUDENT SHOULD BE REVIEWING MULTIPLICATION TABLES EVERY DAY.  There are great online games for such skill drilling.  Google: free online multiplication games.

Fifth Graders worked intensely on Native American legends.  Some have completed them and are now illustrating their works.  Others still need to put them in the computer.  OUR GOOGLE DRIVE ACCOUNT IS READY AND STUDENTS CAN ACCESS THEIR WRITING AT HOME AS WELL AS AT SCHOOL.  I WILL EMAIL YOU THE INSTRUCTIONS TO KEEP THE SITE SECURE:
