This morning we worked a Sudoku to get our brains warmed up! We next practiced cursive "J" and wrote an entry about Headmaster Hike. My L.A. class worked on spelling. THERE IS A TEST TOMORROW. Students should have brought their spelling home to study. We met in book clubs to summarize, work on words, connect, visualize and play games. Today was the practice day for book clubs. PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CHILD IS READING FOR 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY. NEXT MONDAY, THE SECOND THIRD OF THE BOOK IS DUE. ROLES REMAIN THE SAME.
For math, we reviewed multiples and the differences between factors and multiples. We played a hundreds board multiple game. We then learned the order of operations. HOMEWORK IS EXERCISES 10 AND 11. We will be reviewing the operations over the next week. It is imperative that students know the order. Today we learned the visual cue. Tomorrow we will learn, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". Students who complete homework get their names put in a drawing. 5 students received prizes today!
After Drama and Music, students met to review the three major time periods of the earth. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD SUBMIT THREE FACTS ABOUT EACH TIME PERIOD TOMORROW. We watched part of a dinosaur movie and reviewed our dinosaur projects. PROJECTS ARE DUE THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 14TH. Students will be displaying them for Grandparent's Day.
After a brief recess, students went to P.E. and Science.
