This morning we brainstormed class jobs, evaluating how the classroom was coming along. We then worked on cursive C, grammar, and vocabulary. THE VOCABULARY PACKET IS DUE FRIDAY MORNING. Students will take it home tomorrow. There will be a vocabulary test Friday.
For reading we learned about text-text, text-self, and text- world connections. HOMEWORK IS READING 30 MINUTES.
Math was intense. We learned to add and subtract large numbers mentally when one of the numbers begins with a '9'. 465 + 98 == 465 + 100 ==565 - 2 ==563. Another example is 8471 - 970 ==8471 - 1000 == 7471 + 30 = 7501. Hope this small tutorial helps. HOMEWORK WAS EXERCISE 1 & 2.
In Student Development we learned about how Emotional Health is the lens through which we view the world and how our heart deals with changes. As students illustrated pictures of themselves, we began a read aloud: Abel's Island.
Students also had Drama, Music, P.E. and Science today.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD GETS LOTS OF SLEEP!!! AND BRINGS A SUFFICIENT LUNCH.
