This morning we had an assembly about why we don't bully at Arches Academy. That sneaky stranger was there, trying to get the kids to do what they knew they shouldn't! Thankfully the Arches gang came through and the bully had to leave.
Language Arts was packed with root words, spelling, grammar, and the questioning strategy. THERE WILL BE A LANGUAGE ARTS TEST FRIDAY. It will contain all of the above. HOMEWORK IS TO READ FOR 30 MINUTES.
Math covered rounding large numbers. In the thousands and ten thousands. This is a step up from last year, but the same principle applies. HOMEWORK IS EXERCISE 5. Student workbooks will be checked tomorrow. Friday is a math games day for those up-to-date on assignments and corrections.
Drama, music, P.E. and science were the specialists of the day. I am happy to report that the kids were so engaged in their learning that hardly anyone was ready or willing to leave at 3:15!
In Student Development, we are finishing up our intrapersonal reflection of the four/five main types of health. Ask your child about his/her physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health. If you listen closely, you just might find out some new things!
Also, please discuss bullying with your child. Make sure he/she understands that telling the person to stop is the first step.
