This morning we had an assembly about computer safety and cyber-bullying. Please discuss this with your child.
We did a Language Arts test and worked more on Writer's Workshop. HOMEWORK IS 30 MINUTES OF READING.
Math was FUN! We did extra homework and review this past week. That gave us the opportunity to have centers. One center was tangrams. Another was a Prime Number Museum. The third was "Down and Out". The last was measuring out a smoothie recipe. To say the kids enjoyed the hour would be an understatement! NO MATH HOMEWORK THIS WEEKEND, except for multiplication practice.
After lunch we had Cultural Roundtable. Denmark was the focus of the lesson. The ESL students taught it.
For project work, we did service. We cleaned up the playground and wrote appreciation cards to people who may need a boost. I told the students about my relationship with my sister when I was young, and how her illness prompted me to be kinder and see the good in her. I challenged the students to look for the good in others and be leaders, to make the first step to compliment others. Students created cards for a special person in their life.
After Competition Choir and Team Sports we had minicourses. Good day for all!
